Paleo Indians
The Paleo Indians were the first Native Americans in North America. They lived during the Ice Age, and migrated to North America in 10,000 BCE. The name Paleo originates from a Greek word, palaios, meaning "old". The reason for their migration to North America is because of the large animals moving to the Americas. The Paleo people were nomads, and traveled from place to place based on the food supply in an area. The Paleo Indians used Clovis points to hunt, and they usually hunted mammoths and giant sloths. The Paleo Indians usually lived in bands of 20 people, and lived in non permanent housing. Their housing was usually pits that were covered with hide and bark.
