Impact of European Contact
European exploration had a large impact on the Native Americans in America. The Europeans were more technologically advanced, and were able to explore the world. This was the start of the Dawn of Exploration. Many explorers were searching for new places, and were trying to achieve three things. These things were called the three G's, god, goods, and glory. The explorers were attempting to spread their religion, and most of them were Catholic. They were also searching for riches, which they could bring back to their country and become well known. This effected Native Americans because they were being exposed to new concepts and religion. Many Spanish missions occurred on the barrier islands of Georgia. These missions were usually churches and buildings that were used to help bring religion into Georgia and the Americas. The people who set up these locations were afraid to enter the Americas, but there was one man who tried, and his name was Hernando De Soto.
