Development as a Royal Colony

Slavery |
Slavery was allowed once Georgia became a Royal Colony. At first, when Georgia was a Charter Colony, slaves were not allowed. The trustees thought that people would become lazy. After the Trustee period ended, slaves were allowed.
Government |
The government changed when Georgia became a Royal Colony. When Georgia was a Charter Colony, the government of the trustees was very disorganized. After this, a Bicameral Legislature was put in place, with a governor and Parliament.
Royal Governors |
There were three Royal Governors. The first was John Reynolds. He was disliked, and was proven ineffective in 1756. The next governor was Henry Ellis. He introduced a strong government with many rights. The last governor was James Wright. He was the best of the three, because he introduced a court system and allowed people to own more land to start plantations. After James Wright, people wanted to separate from Britain, and become independent.
